Fueling the Future of Youth Media Arts: The Power of Community Support

Every project, workshop, and scholarship we provide is made possible by the incredible generosity of donors who believe in the creative potential of our youth. Contributions directly fuel hands-on programs like our youth filmmaking camps, screenwriting mentorships, and community festivals, ensuring that aspiring young artists have access to the resources, equipment, and mentors they need to bring their stories to life. When supporters invest in our mission, they are not just funding workshops—they are building a supportive creative community where young filmmakers, photographers, and animators can thrive and discover their unique voices.

Your continued support allows us to expand our reach and remove financial barriers for students participating in our programs. Whether funding production equipment, exhibition spaces, or student scholarships, every contribution creates direct opportunities for youth to learn, create, and showcase their work. Together, we can continue fostering the next generation of storytellers and media leaders.

Empowering the Next Generation of Storytellers: Join Our Livestream Program

Our livestream program offers young creators an exciting, hands-on opportunity to dive into the world of digital media production and broadcast arts. Designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world media experience, this initiative guides students through the technical and creative aspects of running professional livestreams. Participants gain practical skills in camera operation, audio engineering, live switching, and digital content distribution, empowering them to bring live events and stories to life for broader audiences.

We invite aspiring student filmmakers and media enthusiasts to sign up and take the next step in their creative journey. Whether you are looking to master behind-the-scenes broadcast technology or build confidence in live media production, our program provides the tools, mentorship, and collaborative environment you need to succeed. Behind the Magic: Recapping Our Special Summer Movie Night with Storyboard Artist Brandon Moon

Summer movie nights are always special, but our recent online gathering brought an extra layer of inspiration for our young creators! On Saturday, July 18, the Dr. Barbara Seniors Harkins Foundation hosted a Free Online Watch Party featuring Disney and Pixar’s Elio.

Families and students logged in for more than just a film—it turned into a vibrant, interactive community hangout complete with live animation trivia and behind-the-scenes insights.

The highlight of the event was a special live appearance and Q&A with talented storyboard artist Brandon Moon. Brandon gave our students a fascinating look behind the curtain, sharing what it is really like to work in professional animation, how storyboards bring characters to life, and advice for aspiring young artists following their creative paths. Attendees also enjoyed our live Pixar Trivia Challenge right after the credits rolled and kicked off the afternoon with a fun door prize drawing for early birds. Thank you to everyone who joined us for an unforgettable afternoon of art, film, and community connection!
