Isabella “Izzy” Lopez is a true powerhouse of creativity at Dr. BSH Foundation. Deeply immersed in her school’s media landscape, Izzy is a familiar face in film classes, Film Club, and ND at Night. With a sharp eye for storytelling and a dream of becoming a storyboard artist or writer for comedy animation giants like Adult Swim or Disney XD, Izzy’s dedication to the craft of film is undeniable. “The foundation’s film programs helped me to find the aspect of film that I actually wanted to work in by giving me the opportunity to work with and learn from actual industry professionals,” Izzy shares.

The Foundation’s impact on Izzy’s journey has been transformative, particularly through a specialized panel featuring animation experts. This experience opened her eyes to the diverse career paths within the industry, from the writers’ room to the storyboard desk. Through our mentorship programs, Izzy has significantly honed her scriptwriting skills, learning how to structure narratives effectively and collaborate with other writers. “I feel that I am better equipped to prepare myself to enter the industry,” she explains. “This has motivated me to work harder so that I will be able to work in writers’ rooms… to create quality content that people will enjoy watching.” We can’t wait to see what Izzy does in the near Future!
